Hello Parents & Guardians!

My name is Emma Spencer and I am going into my 3rd year of teaching at Christ the King Catholic School. I am from Colwich, Kansas and attend Sacred Heart Parish. After attending Andale High School, I graduated from Wichita State University in May of 2023 with my B.A. in elementary education. I got married in October of 2025 and officially changed my last name from Reichenberger to Spencer. My husband and I still live in Colwich and we have two pets! I am an avid reader and love to draw. My students are always encouraged to read outside of the classroom! Since I almost became an art teacher, we incorporate art into our weekly schedule. Creating art with our own hands is another way we can give glory to God through our gifts. 

Communication: I  always send out weekly newsletters with our spelling words, updates, and a fun picture from the week. I typically send these out the Friday before the upcoming week. If there are any important dates or projects coming up, I will include those as well.  My newsletters come from FlockNote. We have a few major projects/trips during the year, so please keep an eye out for these Newsletters! Social- Emotional Learning: We talk about the zones of regulation in a more age-appropriate manner and connect our virtue of the week as well. They can also write notes to me at anytime and place it into my "Teacher mailbox" so I can write back to them. This helps solve many problems students may be too shy or embarrassed to ask me in person. We also journal for at least 10 minutes every Thursday where they can write to me and I will write them back. Every student is a gift from God and I want to ensure they feel important and cared for in our classroom environment.
