Dear Christ the King Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 kindergarten year at Christ the King Catholic School! It is a true blessing to have your child in my classroom, and I am grateful that you have entrusted this special year to our CTK community.

At CTK, faith and learning go hand in hand. Your child will learn to read, write, count, explore, and discover, while also growing in their understanding of who they are as a beloved child of God. We will work together to help each child feel seen, known, loved, and supported while learning to treat others with the love and dignity every person deserves.

Kindergarten is such a special time of growth and wonder, and I am excited to walk alongside your children as they learn, grow, and discover the unique gifts God has given each of them.

Most importantly, know that my door is always open. I look forward to partnering with you as we help your children grow in faith, knowledge, virtue, and love.

"Train the young in the way he should go, and when old, they will not swerve from it."
— Proverbs 22:6

Together — school and family, united in Christ our King — this is going to be a wonderful year. Welcome home to CTK!

Meet Your Teacher — Mrs. Andrea Hornecker

I am Andrea Hornecker, and I am thrilled to be returning to Christ the King as the kindergarten teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This year is my 15th year of teaching, and I feel truly blessed to continue my vocation as a Catholic school teacher.

Throughout my career, I have taught grades 1st–8th. I spent nine years teaching at St. Mary Catholic School in Derby and the past five years at St. Cecilia Catholic School in Haysville.

Christ the King holds a special place in my heart because I attended school here from kindergarten through 8th grade. After graduating from CTK, I attended Bishop Carroll Catholic High School. I received my bachelor's degree from Southwestern College and completed my Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Emporia State University this summer.

My husband, Scott, and I live in Peck, Kansas, with our three boys. Isaac is a junior at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, Austin is an 8th grader, and Luke is a 3rd grader. Austin and Luke will be joining me at Christ the King this year.

Our family loves camping, lake life, boating, football, and spending time outdoors together.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return to the school that helped foster my love of Jesus and education. I look forward to sharing that same love with my students and their families.
