Welcome to First Grade!

Welcome to our first grade classroom! First grade is a year full of growth and learning, and it is a blessing to witness each child's sense of wonder and delight.
We begin each day with all-school prayer and then continue with our classroom prayer time. Each child can share a special prayer intention that they have so we can pray for them as a class. We end our classroom morning prayer time with a special Marian prayer to entrust our day to the protection of Our Blessed Mother. Then, we recite our class psalm: Psalm 27. It is a wonderful gift to watch each child learn it and begin to recite it by heart.
We end our school day after all-school prayer, by singing the "Salve Regina" as a first grade class. It is a beautiful grace to hear each child's voice joining in song to end our school day in such a sacred way.
A little bit about me: This is my fifth year teaching, and my third year teaching first grade! I graduated from Pittsburg State University with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. My husband and I recently got married in May of 2025. We were blessed to have past and present students in attendance at our Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, which was such a gift on a truly beautiful day!
